X subproject

1. Project Description

The X subproject manages the X implementations, drivers, base-level accessories and fonts in Portage. This includes X.Org, XFree86, drivers and kernel modules such as ati-drivers, nvidia-kernel, nvidia-glx and xfree-drm as well as other core libraries, fonts and accessories.

2. Project Goals

The subproject aims to support X implementations and driver or accessory add-ons to the core. Increasing the modularity of monolithic builds and making configuration automatic or easier are part of its current work.

x11-drivers		The X11-Drivers herd manages the external X drivers in Portage.
