X11 Team
1.
Project Description
The X11 team manages the X implementations and drivers and base-level
accessories in Portage. This includes X.Org, XFree86, drivers and kernel
modules such as ati-drivers, nvidia-kernel, nvidia-glx and xfree-drm as well
as other core libraries and accessories.
2.
Project Goals
The team aims to support X implementations and driver or accessory
add-ons to the core. Increasing the modularity of monolithic builds and
making configuration automatic or easier are part of its current work.

Want to help?
If you want to get involved with improving Gentoo's X experience, we'd
like to hear from you! The main thing you'll want to do is be active on
Gentoo's Bugzilla. Also please
join desktop project members in #gentoo-desktop on irc.freenode.net.
If you are interested in fixing various bugs and don't know which ones
we care about, then take a look at the X11 team buglist.
We are also looking for Herd
Testers. If you are interested in becoming a regular X11
contributor you should read the document and accomodate yourself with
it :].
Warning:
This document is currently a WIP and might get changed a bit before the
final version.
