Status Reports
Preliminaries
This is the status of the Gentoo Documentation Project. It will be posted
regularly, but not with a static frequency. All questions can be posted to
gentoo-doc@gentoo.org or to
me personally.
The Gentoo Documentation Project, from now on abbreviated to GDP, has its own
project page (just like almost all other Gentoo projects). You can find it at
http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/gdp.

This status mail will briefly discuss the following tasks, objectives and/or
projects related to the GDP:

New / Updated Documentation
The Eclass HOWTO has been updated to
reflect the kde eclass changes.
The Gentoo Development Policy has been
updated to include a reference to the metadata document.
The Gentoo FAQ has been updated.
A Sparc Quick Installation
Reference has been added.
The 2.6 koutput docs for users
and developers have been put online.
The Gentoo Handbook has been
updated with:

Instructions to run genkernel --menuconfig all in case the boot
partition isn't ext2 or ext3

Instructions pertaining to the Knoppix and "Other distribution" installation
methods have been moved out into the Gentoo Alternative Installation Manual

Fix several PPC issues

Fix several SPARC issues

Discussion on GLEP10
A lengthy discussion
on gentoo-doc has emerged regarding the Internationalisation
proposal (GLEP10).
Tobias Scherbaum has also rewritten
the GLEP10 proposal and posted it for discussion on gentoo-doc.

Individual Status Updates
Marcelo
Goncalves de Azambuja has posted his personal status update.
5.
Policy Update
The Gentoo Documentation Policy has
been updated. More information about the changes have been posted to gentoo-doc@gentoo.org.
