Gentoo Graphical User Interfaces Project

1.  Project Description

The main goal of this project is to develop graphical interfaces which adapts well into a Gentoo system; this might involve tasks that go from writing complete graphical programs until the extension and adaptation of current ones to satisfy a very specific functionality of the system.

A GUI is intended to enhance the usability of an application through the design and composition of graphical elements (widgets) that may be used to interact with a program using development toolkits available in all Gentoo systems.

3.  Available GUIs

Currently we have two graphical user interfaces within Gentoo system.

• app-portage/maintainer-helper a dev-tool for helping with ebuilds maintenance
• app-portage/himerge which is a graphical user interface for emerge
