The Kolab Project provides a powerful groupware server that works together with a variety of clients (Outlook, Kontact, Thunderbird, Horde Webmail ...) and is a complete free software solution.
The groupware server has traditionally been packaged for the OpenPKG distribution which you can install as a "distribution within a distribution" on many Linux distributions. The Kolab2/Gentoo project tries to provide packages that allow you to install the server directly in the Gentoo environment without using OpenPKG.
The goal of the Kolab2/Gentoo project is to get the Kolab2 Server available via Portage and maintain the necessary packages in the tree.

The installation instructions for Kolab2/Gentoo are managed within the Kolab wiki.
For a general overview over the Kolab Groupware server you should visit the Kolab project site.
The project overlay on the Gentoo overlays site holds all current package definitions.
If you are interested in getting on overview over the recent changes in the overlay you will also find a readable change log in the Gentoo overlay.
All documentation concerning the Kolab2/Gentoo project is accessible via a special portal page within the main Kolab wiki.
You can also discuss the project using the Kolab2/Gentoo forum.
Currently using the Kolab users mailing lists is the recommended option. But there will be another project specific mailing list created soon.
Please submit bugs to the Gentoo bug tracker. Please ensure that your bug summary starts with [kolab overlay] so that it can be correctly assigned.
For direct questions you may try to contact us over IRC. The project specific channel is #gentoo-kolab and the general Kolab crowd can be found at #kolab.
If you ask for help on #kolab you should always make it clear that you are using Kolab2/Gentoo rather than Kolab2/OpenPKG. Otherwise the answers you get might simply not solve your problem.
And finally a combined RSS feed can be obtained here.
