Gentoo OpenRC Project
1.
Project Description
OpenRC is a dependency based init system that works with the system provided
init program, normally /sbin/init. It is not a replacement for /sbin/init.
OpenRC is 100% compatible with Gentoo init scripts, which means you can probably
find one for the daemons you want to start in the Gentoo Portage Tree. OpenRC,
however, is not exclusively used by Gentoo Linux, so our goal is to be
platform-agnostic.
Related project: Gentoo Base System.

Getting involved
The Gentoo OpenRC Project is open to all contributions. If you would like to
get involved in the project, feel free to join us on irc/#openrc or even irc/#gentoo-base. We're also reachable via
openrc@gentoo.org. However, all bug
reports should go through Bugzilla
rather than e-mail. Please file bugs under the "Gentoo Hosted Projects"
product and the "openrc" component.
You can also find the source code in the OpenRC git
tree.
